Textile Industry
Indonesia’s textile and textile products industries are considered well established and fully integrated from the highly specialized upstream textile production to the labor intensive finished garments while the domestic and international distribution network is well set through years of relationship. Specialization in each process on the chain since the 1980s. The production process of TTP industry in Indonesia had already involved vertical integration, which starts from input material like fiber until finished products such as apparels. TTP industries contributed 12.4% of Indonesia’s 2003 annual export at USD7.0bn, the largest non-oil and gas exporter at 16.6% of the total. From the World Trade Organization export report, Indonesia was the tenth biggest textile exporter with value of USD 2.9 bn or 1.9% of the global total export and the eighth largest garment exporter with value of USD 3.9bn or 2.0% of the global share in 2002.
